Pioneer and Onkyo, two audio equipment manufacturers, were one of the several mentioned to get Deezer support when Deezer HiFi, previously known as Deezer Elite, was announced a bit less than a year ago. Just as Samsung announced recently, Pioneer and Onkyo are supporting the lossless version of the Deezer streaming service. Deezer is one of the most popular subscription-based streaming music services. Users have access to an impressive library of more than 53 million songs. Owners of both Pioneer and Onkyo hardware have had access to Deezer.
Pioneer will include Deezer HiFi support in free firmware updates coming throughout August 2018, for a variety of its current AV receivers and networked audio devices.
Deezer HiFi is a streaming audio service with over 53 Million songs, of which 36 Million songs are available in lossless CD Quality FLAC format. Streaming music service Deezer continues to expand its reach. Both Onkyo and Pioneer have issued firmware updates that brings Deezer support to a wide range of AVRs and networked audio products, while Samsung has launched a retail promotion.
Deezer Pioneering
On top of the existing tiers of Deezer’s service, the Onkyo and Pioneer firmware will also enable access to Deezer HiFi. Subscribers will be able to enjoy CD quality, lossless (16bit / 44.1kHz) FLAC music files; Deezer currently providing some 36 million tracks to choose from. The service costs £19.99 a month and is ad-free.
In addition, Deezer’s ‘Flow’ function that uses smart data to create a personalised, curated soundtrack, based on the user's listening tastes. Flow doesn't just include known favourites, but also introduces new songs and artists.
Deezer has announced integration with a selection of Samsung audio products, including soundbars. In addition, eligible Samsung soundbars and wireless speakers will come with free six months subscription to Deezer HiFi.
