FontAgent 9.6 runs on macOS 11 Big Sur, 10.15 Catalina, and 10.14 Mojave
[prMac.com] San Jose, California - Insider Software today announced the release of FontAgent V9.5 for Macintosh, which adds support for macOS Catalina as well as faster activation, faster syncing and more robust tagging to the lengthy list of features added in Version 9. The new features help you organize, categorize, activate and visualize your fonts using FontAgent's modern, customizable interface.Full Support for macOS Catalina, Mojave and High Sierra:
The new V9.5 release is compatible with Catalina (macOS 10.15) and takes advantage of the latest macOS platform functionality and APIs to optimize application performance, font activation and font rendering. V9.5 and V9 are also compatible with the Mojave and High Sierra releases of macOS, and both releases support Dark Mode.
2x Faster Activation and More Auto-Activation:
FontAgent V9.5 significantly widens font auto-activation support, so as you open documents in supported apps, FontAgent auto-activates them in macOS. Auto-activation now works in Adobe Creative Cloud 2019 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and InCopy); the Affinity product suite (Designer, Photo and Publisher); and QuarkXpress 2018. Version 9.5 makes font activation two times faster, especially for large font sets and collections.
Searchable, Shared, Robust Tagging:
FontAgent 9 and 9.5 include vastly improved keyword tagging. You can tag fonts and sets to classify them by client, project, usage, topic, theme, appearance, job number--however you want. You can also use tags in smart searches and Smart Sets to preview, compare and activate associated fonts easily. And when you share fonts with other users, you share their tags as well. The V9.5 release increases UI responsiveness when updating and sharing server- and user-assigned tags.
Tight Integration of Subscription Fonts:
Fonts activated in Monotype SkyFonts and Adobe Fonts appear automatically in FontAgent. The Monotype SkyFonts service offers access to over 11,000 industry-leading fonts including the popular Google Fonts library. Adobe offers access to thousands of fonts as part of their Creative Cloud subscription service. Both services are tightly integrated into FontAgent, so you can compare their fonts with each other and with your existing font library.
Freeform Comments:
The new releases move FontAgent's handy freeform comments into its new tagging pane. You can add subjective text for fonts and sets to describe projects, clients, colors, type settings or treatments. You can even search those comments to find the fonts you need and use them consistently.
Lightning-Fast Search:
The font search facility is expanded and improved to include a full spectrum of font characteristics: name, style, foundry, designer, tags, comments, ratings, and other metadata. Perform complex searches and save their results as Smart Sets that auto-update as you add fonts to your collection.
Table View Improvements:
The Table View now lets you group fonts by tag, which organizes the order of fonts in the table topically. Click any metadata column to sort by that attribute. Or click an activation switch to activate and deactivate fonts. Once you start using the Table View, it becomes one of your go-to views in FontAgent.
Automatic Font Cache Clearing:
FontAgent 9 and 9.5 improve the performance of its built-in font cache clearing. You have the choice of clearing caches--for the current user or for all users on your Mac--immediately or when you logout, shutdown or restart your computer.
