At first hand I can tell you about its most attractive features, the pros, and cons of my experience with the software, and the details about its free and paid versions; all that and maybe something else in this ActivePresenter Review.

What can I do with ActivePresenter?

Thanks to its combination of recording tools with graphic and audiovisual editing tools, this program allows the development of a wide variety of projects that can have educational, commercial, advertising, research or demonstration purposes.

These are the three most popular types of projects:

Video Tutorial: You probably have seen some video tutorial on YouTube. This type of project is the most used to teach how to use computer programs and applications. The official description for the ActivePresenter on the Atomi website is: “All-in-one screen recorder, video editor & eLearning authoring software”. Sounds pretty broad, doesn’t it? And it does indeed deliver what it promises. There is practically no demonstrative or explanatory project that cannot be developed using the many interactive and audiovisual tools offered by this program.

These are its characteristics:

Interface: Luckily for all beginners, ActivePresenter’s interface is simply organized and works according to basic logic. It is suitable even for a person who has had only a minimal relationship with image and video editing programs. The organization of tabs, menus, and toolbars is very similar to the one you find in the Microsoft Word program. However, if you don’t like the default setup, you can always relocate, resize or close the side panels, as well as customize the short-keys to the keys of your choice.
Screen Recording: The most important aspect of a screencasting program. ActivePresenter allows you to record all the activity on-screen through full-motion recording or through the Smart Capture Screen, which instead of recording a complete video, takes descriptive screenshots for each step made with the mouse or keyboard.

Demanding learning curve due to the huge amount of tools and options.
You can only import video files created in ActivePresenter itself
High prices compared to other Authoring Tools and Screencasting software.
No 4K, the highest resolution available is 1080 Full HD.

ActivePresenter Review | Conclusion

Do not be misled by its humble appearance; ActivePresenter is an extremely comprehensive program, so you may find it a little overwhelming if it is your first time using an Authoring tool, but the freedom of customization that allows in the design of each project guarantees attractive, detailed and professional results, even just by using the Free Edition.
